... and, at the backs of the displays themselves.  The lamp sockets, removable for replacement of bulbs  The steppers for counting minutes and seconds, of which there are four. I think each one has 10 steps, some of which are jumpered to fire the solenoid again and skip past them to make them function as divide-by-6 counters. The one with the leaf switch mounted on top is the 10-second counter; the leaf switch is activated by some tabs on the center hub, which trigger it every minute, to enable the roll-over to the minutes relay. The one at far right is the seconds relay, which basically has only two possible positions: 0 and 5. Exactly why they did not just use a flip-flop alternator relay there boggles the mind. These too are semicircular, and have a three-sided contact.   Another view of the smaller stepper relays.   The black gear motor is the clock's timebase. It runs synchronously with the 60 hz line frequency, and is geared to 12 rpm. The four leaf switches on cams trigger in sequence every 5 seconds, to momentarily blank the display, enable the roll-over between the stepper relays, advance the 5-second relay, and finally, re-enable the display. The small relay to the motor's right is latched in momentarily by one of the leaf switches and the 5-second contacts to enable roll-over when the 5-second digit is rolling from 5 to 0.  Ye olde digital clockwork...
