Burninated. To be rebuilt. Weekend of August 21-22, 2004: 1931 (Blue Bird Transhuttle CS, based on the numbering), Route 242. Electrical fire. Unusually long response time from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. (Burned to a crisp.) 9732 (NABI 40LFW?). Extensive fire damage to rear section, started in a/c unit. 4037 1994 Ikarus Artic (November 7 2002, SR112/22 Avenue, deadheading from route L, electrical fire, subsequently retired.) 4015 1994 Ikarus Artic (August 1999, W. Flagler St/8 Avenue, route 11 westbound, electrical fire, body rebuilt 2002, back in service January 2004) 4015 2nd time (May 2004, Busway/SW 160 Street, route 38 southbound, turbo fire, presently out of service) 5011 1995 Ikarus artic (November 1999, SR 112 just west of I-95, deadheading from route S, stuck brakes, body rebuilt 2002, as of May 2004 still not in service.) 9806 1999 NABI 40LFW (2002, engine fire, back in service mid-2003) 9744 1998 NABI 416 (January 1999, route 38 southbound, brake fire, back in service mid-1999) 7121 1987 Flxible Metro (January 7, 2001, route 9 southbound, A/C fire, subsequently retired) 666 1976 AM General 9640B (1979, route Baptist Hospital?, struck down by the Almighty) 1901 1999 Blue Bird Transhuttle CS (2002, electrical, in service 2003) 1990 2001 Blue Bird Transhuttle CS (January 3, 2002(?), electrical/heater, sent to Blue Bird for repairs, back in service 2003) 6046 1996 Ford Startrans cutaway (various dates, repeated minor electrical fires in dashboard thru 2001, back in service within a week or so. Retired early 2002.) 9301 1993 Flxible Metro (May 11 2004, I-95, unknown undercarriage fire, bus likely will be retired.) 9325 1993 Flxible Metro (April 2004, unknown fire, reported extensive damage, possibly retired.) 1010 1980 GMC T8O-204 RTS II-04 (1996?, I-95, brake fire?, retired) 1119 1980 GMC T8O-204 RTS II-04 (unknown, Golden Glades, collided with car which then caught fire.) 1204 1980 GMC T8O-204 RTS II-04 (July 1997, MacArthur Causeway, route 51 eastbound, engine fire, retired) 1172 1980 GMC T80-204 RTS II-04 (1996, SR 112/NW 27 Avenue, deadheading off route B, electrical fire. Was wrapped for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines at the time, a picture of a curise ship on the water. Nicknamed "The Sinking Ship" after that). 9416 1994 Flxible Metro (2001, engine fire, returned to service 2002) 9076 1990 Flxible Metro (April 1(?) 1993, Florida Turnpike/ SW 137 Avenue, deadheading, fire caused by faulty brake job, bus destroyed.) And those are just the ones I'm aware of. MDT....."Bring a bucket of water with you". Oh yeah there was also a fire at a BCt garage (Ravenswood I think) in 1996, inside the maintenance bays, and at least 1 Flx was caught and burned to a crisp, as per news footage of the fire. Fernando
